Postby Plaguebreath » Fri May 04, 2007 4:29 am

Hello everyone, first of all sorry for my bad english and sorry if I make stupid question but I am just a beginner on Scalix and I'd like to learn about it because seems it's exactly what I need to do here. I am a total beginner on Linux too and I just menage to get a Suse Open 10.1 and I will try to install it. First question, it's that good things to install it on a Virtual Machine and what special attention I must use on that kind of installation ? Second things it's where I can find a tutorial for a very noob like me that help me step by step on installation of Scalix comunity edition on that VM machine ? Thx in advance to everyone will comment that post. If anyone have suggestion on other distrubution like Debian where I already saw a post here concerning installation issue well I can listen about that too :)
Best regards

Hi!

To know to install Scalix, I would recommend you to refer to the Installation Guide that is
available at:
http://www.scalix.com/documents/Scalix_ ... 11.0.1.pdf

Also, a VM could only be used for testing purposes, check this post to find feedback on
running Scalix Server in a VM:

It is indeed possible to install and run Scalix in a virtual machine. It is not, however, a
recommended solution for a number of reasons; performance and reliability to name two.

See if you need something more from me.

Thanks,
Subir
