Cannot get to sac,webmail,m

Postby newbiez » Thu Apr 26, 2007 7:23 am

hi..

There's problem with our scalix 11.0.3 installation. at first, the problem was only cannot login to sac (it said something like invalid user/password). after searching the forum, I tried to reinstall res package (manually by rpm -e and rpm -ivh ) and reconfigure the whole stuff using scalix-installer, suddenly our scalix even cannot load login page for sac, webmail, and mobile.
the error message is the same for sac/webmail/m, something like this (this is for webmail):

HTTPステータス 404 - /webmail/
/webmail/
The requested resource (/webmail/) is not available.
Apache Tomcat/5.5.16

it seems my problem is very similar with the other thread (viewtopic.php?p=30460). I have tried to follow the steps mentioned there but got no luck.

any help is very appreciated, thanks.

Hi!

Check the value for "swa.user.locale" in the file /var/opt/scalix/??/webmail/swa.properties
set it to as below:

Code: Select all

swa.user.locale=en_US

save and exit the file, and restart scalix-tomcat service, now try again to see if you are
able to login webmail.

Thanks,
Subir

hi subir,

In our scalix server, the configuration in /var/opt/scalix/??/webmail/swa.properties is:
swa.user.locale=ja_JP
our scalix is patched to japanese language before (before this problem occured, our japanese scalix was run very well).

I have tried to change it into en_US and restart scalix-tomcat service. The error message is still there:

HTTPステータス 404 - /webmail/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
type ステータスレãƒ

hi..

the problem is solved now. seemed it was my mistake. The server host name was once changed. I did all the steps needed to replace hostname and everything running well until I checked and found there's still unchanged hostname in the configuration. I manually changed it, but I forget to also rename symbolic link /var/opt/scalix/t1/tomcat/conf/Catalina/<hostname>

But my first problem is not solved yet: cannot login to sac (always said invalid password)

Could be the username you are using.

Type:

Code: Select all

omshowu -n sxadmin

On the first line, it should give you the authentication ID.

This is the username for the sxadmin account.

Just want to make sure that is what you are using.

If you want to change the password from the command line you can do:

Code: Select all

ommodu sxadmin -p <password>

Hope that helps,
Shredder

hi..

what I did was like this:

Code: Select all

omshowu -m <mailnode> -e

I found sxadmin in the list, so I un-expire with the following

Code: Select all

ommodu sxadmin -E

But, after I was able to login to sac successfully, just now, suddenly I got another problem login to sac. There's always alert pop up saying something like this: "There is no response of a management server. Connection has run out or the problem has occurred in the server.", I tried to restart scalix and scalix-tomcat, then, it returns to my 1st problem.. can't login to sac with message saying something like 'invalid user/passwd'. :?
