Server Upgrade

I am currently running Scalix 10 on a OpenSuse 10.0.0 (updated) server. I am wanting to move my datastore (mailstore) to a new server running FC 5. I have FC 5 installed and all patched. I then tar'd the old /var/opt/scalix folder and copied it to the new server extracting the files back to the same place.

All of the dependancies are in place for Scalix (or at least it passes). Shouldn't I be able to install 11.0.2 directly over the restored files or am I missing something? Right now, it does not install.

Deleted folders started with "O". GUID and UID matches with new server. The latest, is I installed piece by piece until it completed and now I receive an error that omcheckgc line 45 command not found.

Hi!

When you had taken the tar of /var/opt/scalix did you restore file ownership and permissions? If not, create a new tar, untar it to the new server, create user and group
with same user id and group id as the old server. Now try to run the installer, it should pick this message store and upgrade the same.

You can refer to Scalix installer logs that you find at /var/log folder.

Yes.

I reconfirmed by running tar (cvpf) on the old system and tar (xvpf) on the new machine. I checked the /etc/group and confirmed that the users ID and group IDs are correct. Installing using the restored contents. Version 11 of Scalix on Fedora Core 5

run omcheck -s -d > /tmp/chkscript.txt && /tmp/chkscript.txt

This will take a (very) long time to run, but once it completes, rerun the installer. As I see it, the install died trying to start the ldapmapper service. But the check will not hurt anything, and might be beneficial.

There were other UIDs that were mismatching other than ones that had mailboxes. Odd but fixed them and it was able to get past that point. Now to the next problem. (and another thread).
