"forgets" java, tomcat and password info affter re

Postby copia » Sun Oct 09, 2005 11:49 pm

Hi all,

It's probably somthing realy obvious and stupid but ....

Install the scalix community edition on FC4 with latest updates. Install the Java and Tomcat packages that come with scalx and can sucessfully log in to admin console howwever as soon as I reboot the machine everything fails. If I modify the install I notice that the java and tomcat is not longer pointing to the correct versions so running the console fails. Running the modify fixes that however now the passwords no longer work. Runnininga full reinstall fixes everything.

Any help appreciated.

"Everything fails" is probably due to Tomcat not being configured to start at boot time. Please check the CD or tarball for a script called "scalix-tomcat" and put that in your /etc/init.d directory. Make sure you modify it to reflect reality on your system (the paths at the top). Make sure any other Tomcat that may have been installed is removed and/or disabled before trying to start the Scalix version.

Hope this help.

Nick.
