x86_64 or noarch scalix server

Postby flateric » Tue Sep 27, 2005 1:37 pm

I am trying to install the scalix community version on RHEL4 x86_64 arch. Unfortunately the installer says it can't find the server package. When running in --debug, it is apparent that it is because there in no x86_64 or noarch rpm. If I install the server using RPM then I don't get any config dialog. Is there a way to configure the server rpm other than with the graphic installer or is there a way to get a noarch or x86_64 rpm of the server?

Thanks.

Please read the sticky post at the top of this forum for a list of supported platforms.

We do not provide a x86_64 RPM so you will need to use the 32-bit versions. Obviously, this needs you to have installed the 32-bit OS.

64 bit hardware is coming

I've read the sticky post at the top of the forum, it says you will monitor demand for additional operating systems, well this is another demand (perhaps "request" would be better)

I'm about to replace a customers Small Business Server, and this week, even the cheap hardware does 64 bit.

So I choose to put Centos 4.1 X86_64 on the machine I've just built for them.

I've managed to install various 32 bit only apps on the box, but I can't get scalix to install.

the installer says the i386 rpms " is not for this platform."

they do install if you do it by hand,
but then things are not setup properly, because the installer didn't do it.

We have 64 bit machines now. They're being used for testing. Draw your own conclusions :-)

More formally responding, we'll be supporting Scalix on x86_64 OS and kernel in the future! :-)
