Scalix accepting mail for an alias domain?

Postby arnaudsj » Thu Jan 18, 2007 1:28 am

Hi,

I got Scalix 11 up and running, but I want to be able to migrate users one by one to it. So my plan is to setup a forward on each user's mailbox on the current mailserver to Scalix. So my Scalix node is setup as scalix.mydomain.com, but for some reason it only seems to be answering to emails sent for users@mydomain.com (which can't work because the current mail server treats emails for mydomain.com as local).

Is there a way to tell Scalix that it should be answering emails on both user@scalix.mydomain.com AND user@mydomain.com?

Basically it boils down to be able to setup a forward for user@mydomain.com -> user@scalix.mydomain.com (but when somebody sends an email from the scalix server, the from needs to show @mydomain.com and not @scalix.mydomain.com.

Thank you in advance.

Sébastien

In SAC, add scalix.myserver.com as a new domain (If you're licensed, you'll need a new license.)

Then, change the autogenerated email addresses to generate a second address using this domain. You'll want the myserver.com to remain at the top of the email address list.

This will mean that all new users will receive both email addresses automatically. For existing users, you'll need to add the second address manually.
