As in my previous topic
http://www.scalix.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=4635
i want to notice, that the problem of the cyrus-sasl-32bit packages on SLES10 still persist - even in Scalix 11 Final Release.
Half an hour ago i downloaded the Scalix 11 final release, tried to install it and got
the same error as above:
Code: Select all
Network check passed.
Dependency check failed -- The 32bit version of cyrus-sasl-plain package is needed by the Scalix Server.
Dependency check failed -- The 32bit version of cyrus-sasl-digestmd5 package is needed by the Scalix Server.
Dependency check failed -- The 32bit version of cyrus-sasl-crammd5 package is needed by the Scalix Server.

Dependency check failed -- Please resolve the following package conflicts and re-run the system checks:
/usr/lib/sasl2/libcrammd5.so is needed by scalix-server-11.0.0.431-1.sles10.i586
/usr/lib/sasl2/libdigestmd5.so is needed by scalix-server-11.0.0.431-1.sles10.i586
/usr/lib/sasl2/libplain.so is needed by scalix-server-11.0.0.431-1.sles10.i586
The cyrus-sasl-32bit package and the "cyrus-sasl-crammd5,cyrus-sasl-plain,cyrus-sasl-digestmd5"-packages were installed.
So, the "sixty-four-dollar question" is:
HOW CAN ONE INSTALL SCALIX11 on a 64 bit machnine???

My solution was - i copied following RPMs from the SLES10 DVD(there are both - 32 & 64 bit versions of SLES10):
cyrus-sasl-plain-2.1.21-18.4.i586.rpm
cyrus-sasl-crammd5-2.1.21-18.4.i586.rpm
cyrus-sasl-digestmd5-2.1.21-18.4.i586.rpm
, installed with yast from the "original distribution" dvd the "cyrus-sasl-32bit"-package
but NOT the shipped "cyrus-sasl-digestmd5", "cyrus-sasl-plain" and "cyrus-sasl-crammd5", that seem to be 64-bit-Version, but installed manually the i586-packages i copied from the dvd - and it worked! Scalix-Installer detected them correctly.
