Installation Problem - RHEL3 11GA

Postby jzarate » Thu Jan 04, 2007 5:22 pm

Good day,

Using the latest installer for RHEL3 we found that the Scalix Server and Tomcat Connector option does not appear for the normal or custom install. When the System Check is maded at the log appears a message with the indication about those modules and after that a warning.

We make the installation with RHEL4 and the options at the install process does appear. Can be a bug or a problem with the tar file.

We will make more pilot installations and we will make the feedbacks.

Thanks...

Thanks for your post Dave.

We take some other ways: Installing the Tomcat Connector and the Scalix Server modules from RPM, but does not work. (was just an idea).

What we will do?( :x WE MUST KNOW WHY DOES NOT WORK!!!):

1. Install a new FC5 Server and a new RHEL3 server.
2. Update the distros from FEDORA and RED HAT NETWORK sites.
3. Make a parallel instalation at the servers.

After that, we wil send a new feedback and logs.

Thanks again for your time.

Good day,

After some time used for FC5 and RHEL3 without obtain results, we use RHEL4 (last update ISO images from RHN) and now Scalix is working fine.

We will try again with FC5 in order to understand the real problem and make the feedback.
