Upgrade from Scalix 10.0.1 to 11.0 GA on Suse 10.0 fails

Postby Giri » Fri Dec 22, 2006 3:39 pm

Hello Team

I tried to upgrade from Scalix 10.0.1 to 11.0 GA on an Suse Linux 10.0 server (faked to OSS) but I get this failure:

Error: unsupported OS release: SUSE LINUX 10.0 (X86-64) OSS on x86_64

The installer stopps afterwors without starting the upgrade.
What is wrong - in the doc I found Suse Linux 10.0 (OSS) is still supported for Scalix 11.0 ?

Thanks for a hint
Daniel

Hi,

where in the docs did you find that SuSE OSS 10.0 is still supported for Scalix 11? This needs to be fixed - indeed it is not. We do require you to upgrade to SuSE 10.1 to be able to use Scalix 11.

Cheers,
Florian.

Hello Florian

It was noted in the installation guide Draft 2, page 32:
(Last line)

Operating systems (Linux)
You can install and run Scalix in any of the following versions of Linux: *
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3, 4
• SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9
Scalix can be installed on the following Linux opereating systems (on
Intel or AMD hosts), but should be done only for evaluation purposes:
• Fedora Core 5
• SUSE Linux Open Source Software (OSS), v10.0

But I saw that since yesterday, there is the corrected and final version of the doc online.
So my question is obsolete now...

Cheers
Daniel
