problem with lynx

Postby roetti » Sat May 07, 2005 3:31 am

Hi,

I'm trying to install the Scalix Mail Server on a Suse Linux Ent. 9. I installed all required packages and I saw in the manuall, that Tomcat and Lynx will install from Scalix. I get a warning that tomcat is not installed and it can be done while Scalix instalation, but I get an error message that lynx is not installed. I have to break the installation.

I downloaded then lynx and installed it and it is working correctly, but I get still the error message in the Scalix installation tool!
What can I do now??

Roetti,

The Lynx rpm for the Scalix server can be found in the Scalix install media in the following directory <scalix dir>/software/scalix_server. This is the version you should use. If you have already installed lynx, please run and post the results of:

rpm -q lynx

Once lynx is installed re-run the Scalix Installer.

The System Check screen is where the RPM depencies are checked. It should pass and no errors should be posted.

If neither of these suggestions are on the mark. Please post the specifc error the Scalix Installer is posting.

Hi,

strange things. If I use rpm -q lynx I get the message: package is not installed. But I can use lynx after I type lynx in a terminal.
I installed lynx from the Scalix CD (I searched it in a false directory) and the command rpm -q lynx is OK.
I don't tried to install Scalix, because it is to late, but I will try it on Thursday. Hopefully it will work now

Thank you very much.
