Scalix dependency check package conflict Error

Postby peter5898 » Fri Aug 04, 2006 8:20 am

have been trying to install Scalix Community edition on my new fresh build Fedora 4 box with great difficulty.

After i attempt to install the scalix program it performs the checks and fails with the following error:-

Dependency Check failed -- Please resolve the following package conflicts and rerun the system checks:
compat-libstdc++-296 is needed by scalix-server-10.0.1.3-1.fc4.i386, Libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 is needed by scalix-server-10.0.1.3-1.fc4.i386

Please forgive me if this question has been asked before as i am quite new to linux - thanks in advance
:)

Hi Peter,

If you do a search here for compat-libstdc, you'll find several posts about installing the correct library. Here is what you need to do:

Code: Select all

yum install compat-libstdc++-296  Libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3

Thanks,
Rachel
