antivirus for Scalix

Postby tgunduz » Sun May 29, 2005 7:20 pm

Hello

* Are there a officilly supported antivirus for Scalix please ? I m actually using interscan virus wall for linux and I d like to keep it

* Is it possible to do a "sandwich" install with Scalix as follows

- postifix runnig on port 25 is receiving inbound messages.
- postfix forwards mails to Antivirus runnig on a different port say 10025
- antivirus forwards checked messages to scalix running on higher port say 20025

My actual configuration is a sandwich config running 2 postif instances and the antivirus

Any idea ?
Thank you

Generally speaking this should be possible. You might want to checkout knowledgebase where there is an article on SpamAssassin which uses a similar setup; I believe they suggest using virtual IP addresses to be able to distinguish between various services.

We do not support or recommend using postfix as the outgoing MTA for Scalix; however, running a Postfix instance on the Scalix server machine for such a setup is certainly acceptable.

If you need any more help after looking at the article, please drop us a line here.

Cheers,
Florian.
