Scalix Install Trouble on OpenSUSE 10.1

We have been successfully evaluating Scalix during the last few days, and had no issues installing it on a SUSE 9 server. During the initial install, we read that the preferred SUSE platform going forward would be OpenSUSE 10.x.
Subsequently, we've configured a unit with OpenSUSE 10.1 and have begun the Scalix install. After starting the install script with 'sh ./scalix-installer', it exits with the following error:
'Error: unsupported OS release: SUSE LINUX 10.1 (i586) on 386'
Do I have an older installer? Is OpenSUSE 10.1 supported?
Any thoughts?

Problem is resolved by changing the entry in: /etc/SuSE-release to a value that is recognized/approved by the Scalix installer.
i.e., change it from:

SUSE LINUX 10.1 (i586)
VERSION = 10.1

to

SUSE LINUX 10.0 (i586) OSS
VERSION = 10.0

This answer is found in previous threads, but the situation is somewhat confusing because the OSS version of SuSE does not write 'OSS' to the SuSE-release file.

Stating the obvious, glad to hear that this works for you... still need to mention that we have neither tested nor support any use of Scalix on SuSE 10.1. Treating SuSE 10.0 OSS and 10.0 Professional the same is a much more valid assumption as they will share the same package and library versions.

The next release of Scalix will support SuSE OSS 10.1.

Late Q3/2006..... please consider this an estimate - development is almost complete, but final date will be determined based on testing and QA results....

though if the main reason that you'll be waiting for it is support for suse oss 10.1, you might also consider what I commented on with rgds to FC5 in http://www.scalix.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=2544... ;-)

(Bottom line is: especially when it comes to something like email, the latest is _not_ always the greatest...... :-)

It's not easy to find the ISOs for OSS 10.0. You can find 10.1 easily, but you might not want to use it on a Scalix server (like I did). Instead, download 10.0 from somewhere like:
