ext4 filesystem

I have Scalix 12.5.2 running on Centos 7. All filesystems are ext3. I am planning to upgrade to 12.6, and I see in the release notes that:

While installing on a non ext4 filesystem, you might be presented with error “Error in `omnewul': double free or corruption (top): 0xxxxxxx”
To avoid this, it is recommended to use ext4 filesystem.

1. Is this a) likely, b) possible or c) rare?
2. Is the error fatal, or can it be worked around?

I'd like to avoid changing the filesystem type if I can, as there are other systems on this server, not just Scalix.

Thanks in advance!

Richard

Hello Richard,

This error will face when you use non ext partion like "btrfs" file system.

You can continue with ext3 file system.
