Improving performance of Web Access

Hi,

I've had a chance to install Scalix on a Linux server with 512 Mb of RAM.
However when running the Scalix Web Access client the reponse time was very slow and dissapointing. I've read up on increasing the memory dedicated to Tomcat and tried that with no improvement.

I would to khow how to best improve SWA performance to an acceptable level such as the one displayed in the webcast demo. Should a particular browser be used ? How much faster will SWA run with added RAM on the server side ?

What else can I do to improve peformance ? things pertaining directly to Scalix - disregarding the obvious such as closing services, working at runlevel 3 or with a RAID.

Regards,
Nir

Hi Nir,

You may find looking at your system monitor that with Linux, Java, Tomcat, and Scalix running you are already running close to the full 512 megs of RAM. So the obvious things that you've stated would help but adding RAM at this point is your best solution.

Thanks,
Don
