Access ISP POP3 emails from server

Postby gi » Mon Oct 24, 2005 3:58 pm

Hi,

Relativly new to Scalix (currently running Community version 9.4).

I have users that have pop3 and/or Imap accounts on various ISPs.

Can I configure the Scalix server to pull mail from these accounts so that when the user logs in via webaccess, they'll see their ISP accounts as well.

Alternatively, is there a way to do this via the webclient.

Thanks in Advance,
genito

Hi,

Similar question to:
http://www.scalix.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=706

Currently, we don't provide the ability to grab mail from other sources. Either from Outlook via the inclusion of the Internet Mail service in the profile, or via SWA via the configuration of additional accounts.

Other IMAP clients (such as Thunderbird and Evolution) do, I believe, provide the ability to configure multiple e-mail sources.

The other option which has been suggested in the forums is the use of fetchmail and the post referenced above implies this works, but I don't have personal experience of this.

Hope that helps.
Cheers,
JG
