Rules wizard

Postby grebex » Sun Oct 23, 2005 8:09 am

The rusel wizard seems to me very basic. I miss a few things like "contains" as evaluator and the possibility to create combined rules as this:

Move mail to folder xxx
if <subject> contains "price"
and <from> contains "superdeals.com"
or <from> contains "sellers.net"

I saw my spaces disappered:

Move mail to folder xxx
if <subject> contains "price" and (<from> contains "superdeals.com" or <from> contains "sellers.net")

And maybe even combined acctions like:

IF <subject> contains "price" AND (<from> contains "superdeals.com" OR <from> contains "sellers.net")
Move mail to folder xxx AND send copy to xxx@yyy.com AND stop processing rules

the underlying server mechanism is actually very flexible and can probably accomodate for most of these cases.

However, from a UI perspective, we decided to keep things simple and not offer all the possibilities to the user; the current design is based roughly on Outlook/Exchange capabilities in the area, to retain a familiar user experience.

Are you using the Rules Wizard integrated in Outlook or the web-based Scalix Rules Wizard?

Thanks,
Florian.

I don't use Outlook. In fact I only use webmail myself.
I'll send you an e-mail as requested.
