Nothing but local SAC is working

Postby Calle » Mon Sep 26, 2005 5:04 am

I am now really stuck, with the Scalix installation. I had the system up once, and look very nice, after a reeinstall did I not get any further though. I have scanned the forum and found several good tips - but I am still stuck.

Problem: The ONLY webinterface I have up working is SAC on local machine.
1) http://myserver:8080/webmail (on local machine) won´t even give me the login dialogue, but says there is no connection to the server.
2) When I connect from an external machine is neither http://myserver:8080/webmail nor http://myserver:8080/sac working.

/my tomcat directory/logs/caa.logs:

The server is a fresh FC4 with a DHCP config and a (correct) hosts-file in the DMZ of our network. The internet connection has a dynamic IP (which is considered in the hosts-file).

telnet to the IMAP-server works fine (as in Problem connection to mail server)
/etc/opt/scalix/webmail/partner.xml is updated

This sounds like a firewall problem. Do you have port 8080 opened for external access ?

Cheers

Yes it was a firewall issue. I am using firehol and thought that the built in request "http" would cover the ports 80 as well as 8080 but that is not the case.

The application looks veeery nice.

Thanks a lot for your help. :)
