date and time

Postby mick » Sat Sep 24, 2005 9:49 am

Hey guys..

Quick question..

We're in Australia and trying to use an Australian date/time form (dd/mm/yy) with 12 hour time.. there is an option for 24 hour time at dd/mm/yy but not for 12 hour time, is it possible to change this anywhere?

Thanks
Mick

At this time, the two preferences are bound to each other (actually in the config file the option is "useUKTimeFormat=true" switching to 24h and DDMMYY).

The next release of Scalix will have a new SWA preferences setting that will allow to set the two pieces separately; development work on this is already done.

I would be nice when the date/time format would be "totaly" free. e.g. 1 customer wants date/time like this: YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM (without the day displayed)

I'm looking forward to the new versions.

It is not going to be completely free, but set to give you considerable choice. Stay tuned.

Do your considerations also include the German time format (06.01.2006 15:20)?

absolutely and we were very aware that the old version did not provide enough choice here.

Germany is our second-biggest market worldwide, so we're putting large efforts into proper german localization; date and time formats within SWA were one of the few remaining weaknesses.

That's solved!

Q1/2006 :-)

Well, it is actually in Limited Release right now with few selected customers for final verification; the limited release period is planned for 6-8 weeks, depending on how it goes - so you can make your guess. Stay tuned.

Cheers,
Florian.
