SWA Auto Save Draft Error Message

Postby dresdn » Wed Jan 17, 2007 1:51 pm

Hello.

One of our users is reporting an odd error that I can't seem to reproduce on my machine, or determine why it is happening on his. Basically, when composing an e-mail, after 3 minutes, the e-mail automatically gets saved as a draft. On his computer, when this happens, a JS error pops up and the message never gets saved.

An error occurred while trying to save this message

Now, the odd thing is that we are both on the same platform, Ubuntu 6.10 running FFox 2.0. I haven't had any other complaints of this, and on other systems it seems to work okay.

I guess I have two questions then: 1) What's the best way to go about troubleshooting this? and 2) Any ideas why this may be happening?

Thanks!

-Mike

Hi!

In Firefox options are JavaScripts enabled. Could you replicate the case for the same user
on some other browser possibly IE 6.

Thanks,
Subir

I also just experienced this issue, and I have replicated this error in IE7. Any more info I can provide?

Same problem here.

Scalix server 11.2
Client Fedora 7, Firefox 2.0.0.5-1.fc7

One user have this problem, me. If I export the userdata, delete the user, add the user and import userdata it works for a while. But the problem resurfaces in a couple of days.

Has anyone found a fix for this yet? I'm having the same error on my system running Fedora 7 and Scalix 11.2

I still have this problem. The only thing that has changed is my scalix version and linux distribution, I am running CentOs 4.4 and Scalix 11.3

It would be nice with some help with this one, Every time I write a longer e-mail, the SWA wants to auto save in drafts, and the error window pops up, it's driving me crazy.

I can access the drafts folder, and I can move e-mails to the folder and delete e-mails in the drafts folder, the only time I get this error is if the SWA tries to auto save, or if i want to save a draft my self.

I am continuing to have this problem myself. Has anyone found any rhyme or reason to this? I have 5 users now complaining of this problem and it is really not viable for me to rebuild each of their mailboxes every few days. The worst part is, aside from using SWA and having more than one layer of folders (they have a subset below their inbox or another subset of their mailbox itself), they have no commonalities between them. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

P.S. - I'm using Scalix 11.3 on a Fedora 7 installation

I found a little bit of additional information. I've noticed that, on the broken mailboxes, the Drafts folder is no longer a special folder. it has become a standard mail folder. Don't know if this will give anyone any ideas or not...

Also wondering if any users or, perhaps, an admin would have any thoughts on how scalix determines which of a user's folders are 'special' folders and/or where i might be able to check wheither or not whatever entry there is for 'Drafts' is pointing to the proper folder id?

Hello we also have the same problem with for now one user. Reading this thread doesn't give me much hope. But please let me know if this has been addressed in any updates from the last 6 months or so. Hello baby sitting a user account.

Also I understand as licensed paying users we are allowed only a certain amount of support per year, but wouldn't in also be nice if you differentiated on the forums between the people who help support your company and those using the limited free version?

Also I'll throw this in here too we have a user using Outlook 2003 and one day this week it crashed no less than 10 times even before lunch. Sometimes it would crash other times it would look like it was trying to access some network resource and waiting for ever, leaving Outlook non responsive and it made the employee loose the message he was writing at the time it froze. It has become slightly more stable in the last day but my users still are very unhappy with the stability. As for me I stick with the web interface to avoid the problem.

Here's a screen shot from the many crashes. Also is support for Outlook 2007 better this would be an okay solution for us.

Thanks for reading my quasi rant.
