I have installed the web access as instructed. I have installed Tomcat4 and JRE 1.42_04. But when I try to access the /webmail directory I get object not found on Apache and on Tomcat4 I get connection refused! Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.

You need to make sure that the tomcat4 service has been started on your SWA server. This provides the HTTP interface on port 8080.
You can check the logs in /var/log/tomcat4.
catalina.out should give you some details if there are any problems starting tomcat in the first place.

I know tomcat starts. It does have a problem stopping though. Maybe it is a permissions problem. I will look into the log. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ok, I found the WAR file and double clicked it. That seems to have installed the application to the tomcat server. I can access the web interface internally (by ip or by the local name mail.houston.pca.local), but externally (mail.proclaimamerica.net) I can't get to the web client.
My question is, in tomcat do you have to setup the application to accept the external name as well? (Like in Apache?)
Thanks.

Bippy_b ... you have any luck with this?
If so, could you post your findings and what you did to fix your issues?
Thanks,
John

If I remember correctly, it was an issue with our firewall.
Once we got that configured properly there was no problem getting the client to install and come up.
Sorry I coulldn't help you more.

David,
Could you post your workers2.properties, jk2.socket, and server.xml files?
I had everything working, now nothing works...spinning my wheels over here!
Appreciate your help,
John

This all was so long ago, I don't even have that system running any more.
Here are some of the links that helped me to fix the problem though.
