BUG: menu not overlapping SELECT boxes in IE

Postby Marc Bauer » Mon Mar 13, 2006 2:23 pm

hi

there is a bug in Scalix SWA with IE. If the menu has many items, it do not overlap the selectboxes (font/color and so on) in a "new mail" or in a new "public mail" form.

this is a well known IE bug and there are many workarounds on the net...

Regards
Marc

Hi Marc,

Unfortunately, the only realistic workaround would be to use the createPopup function to create a menu, instead of using a regular HTML element. The only problem with this is that you can only have one popup per document, which would prevent us from having sub menus.

Cheers,

Julien

Another workaround is to clip the drop down widget. But again, this becomes really complicated when sub menus are involved. A long term work around is to move those drop downs somewhere else (or replace them with other widgets) so they don't interfere with the menu system. Stay tuned.
