Cannot log in SWA or Outlook after CLAMAV install

Using CentOS 4.2 Scalix10

I was installing clamav & I think I screwed up the permissions on the linux user account scalix when I went to add the clamav user to the scalix group. I've backed out all the changes and believe I have restored the correct permissions. I cannot however now log into SWA or via Outlook & keep getting incorrect username/password. Looking at the swa logs it seems like it no longer recognises the username, it's reporting 'badusername'.

Any ideas ?

Thanks,

Donal

Please post what you have for the scalix user in /etc/passwd and the scalix group in /etc/group.

Can you give a little more detail regarding exactly what you did. If the user and or group id's changed then the file permissions will be wrong. If you need to correct file permissions use omcheck.

Code: Select all

omcheck -s -d >check_file

When complete view the file created above. If there are changes needed make the file executable and run it.

I found a post that mentioned checking & rebuilding MIME types by running

omtidyallu -M

This seem to correct the problem, don't know why but has done the trick.

I had a similar problem, but I don't recall actually doing anything to trigger the problem. The only thing I can think of is that I added another LDAP directory in my Scalix profile in Outlook. Suddenly I could not log on via outlook or SWA.

So in the SAC I changed my password and tried again. I was able to connect with Outlook, but not SWA.

I tried clearing my IE and Firefox cookies and cache, and connecting from a different machine, with no luck.

So I ran the omtidyallu -M command and I was able to connect via SWA
