Problems viewing free/busy time

Postby dschol » Mon Feb 27, 2006 4:44 pm

I'm having a problem with my Scalix deployment where some users can see each other's free/busy time but can't see free/busy time for others. For example, right now we have 10 users on our system. I can see the free/busy time for all but one of those users. For the other user, when I go to the Scheduling tab in the Appointment info window in SWA, I get a gray striped line on the person's schedule with the message "Could not retrieve Free/Busy information for this attendee." Does anyone know what's wrong?

I'm running Scalix 10 on FC4. This was an upgrade from Scalix 9. I believe this functionality worked before the upgrade (though I'm not 100% user on that).

A couple of things.

1. Are all the users configured as Premium/Advanced users. Free/Busy is considered part of group scheduling and therefore is only available to Premium/Advanced users.
I suspect this is OK, but it is worth double checking.

2. Has the user in question actually published their freebusy information, e.g. logged in with a client and made a calendar appointment.
What's the output from the command:

Code: Select all

omsearch -d freebusy -e "CN=user name"

If the user doesn't have an entry in the Freebusy directory, or if there is a mis-match between the user definition and the entry in Freebusy then this could be the problem.

ommodu -n user -F add

would fix this.

If the problem user logs on with Outlook, can they actually publish their Freebusy information, to test this log in with Outlook, add an appointment to the calendar and then log out (this forces Outlook to attempt to publish Freebusy).
Then see if other users can see that user's Freebusy information and check the output of the omsearch command above.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
JG
