SWA cpu consumption on client pc

Hi,
I am using the Scalix 11.4.3 Community Edition for over a month now, and I am very pleased with it.
The server is running on CentOS 5.2.
I very frequently use the SWA with Firefox 3.0.8. on my PC (laptop: HP dual-core T7300 2GHz, 2Gb memory on Windows Vista).
In the beginning I did not notice anything strange as I was concentrated on using mail while logging in and out for a short time.
Now I want to leave my mail "open" while working on other work (mostly telnet activities) and I noticed that when I am logged in to SWA, both my CPU-cores are running at appr. 60% load (even when I am not actively using my PC for a while).
As soon as I close my SWA client, the CPU consumption drops dramatically to appr. (avg.) 5%.
Does somebody have any idea why this happens, and how I might influence this behaviour, and (if any) what consequences this might have on using SWA?
Thanks in advance.
Michael
