I have a user who uses webmail exclusivly. Periodically his look ahead feature stops working. I am refering to the feature when you start to type an address in the TO: field a list of address drops down to pick from. His quites working.

I try the following:

1. Have the user log out of email.
2. run sxclearimap to clear IMAP cache
3. run omscan -Avfx _U "user name"
4. run sxmbcprep -u "user name" -k 10
5. Open SAC and recreate his indexes

Sometimes this works...sometimes this doesn't

What causes this and how can I prevent it from happening?

Thanks

Well, you could try deleting the "IMAP #Scalix namespace" folder in omcontain...

Is this different than deleting the IMAP folder under the user's folder. (what is done by running sxclearimap)?

If it is, how do you do this?

thanks

Yes.

Run omcontain, go into the user's folder, go into their filing cabinet, delete the "IMAP #Scalix namespace" folder

omcontain really scares me. a lot of things can get permanently damaged really quick.

But I do have some more information about this problem.

User called with same problem (no list of address showing up when he would type in the TO: box on new message)

Had him log out of SWA & log back on. Still had problem.
Had him log off SWA. I logged onto SWA under my account on his computer. The list of email addresses appeared when I typed in the TO: box on a new message. I logged off.
User logged back on. He now has the list of addresses when composing a new message.

Is there some kind of a cache on the users PC that needs to be cleaned out? Maybe it is tied to IE7 or Windows XP?
