Can't save as draft

Postby joaster » Mon Dec 01, 2008 5:19 pm

Hi ,

Since I did a complete reinstall of Scalix version 11.4.2 everything is working perfect except for one thing:

'Save as draft' and 'Auto save' are not working anymore

The popup I'm getting is: "An error occured when trying to save this message.".

It looks like a write permission error to me, but I don't know how to solve it. Can anybody help me out here?

Regards,
Joost.

Thanks for the quick reply,

There where errors in the sections:
#Now checking component OM-CORE (smtpd.cfg)
#Now checking Mailstore files OM-USERGFILES (...lots...)
#Now checking Mailstore files OM-ACLFILES (hierarchy.chg)

These are all solved now, but the problem is stll there

Or do I have to restart services, because I didn't do so...

Any other ideas?

Regards,
Joost.

Permissions are fixed right then and there.

Is there anything in omshowlog when you see the error? If it's server side, I'd expect to see something there.

I have the exact same problem, and have had it for a long long time. I haven't found anything useful in the logs. What I have noticed is that when it happens the Drafts folder isn't a special folder anymore. Something somehow has changed the Drafts folder from a special folder to a regular one. And I haven't found a way to change it back.

@ schmoe90: omshowlog provides:

WARNING IMAP Server Da(IMAP Server Pr) 12.03.08 11:39:23
[OM 24065] The ACL file for the following Bulletin Board is missing :
ACL file name : ~/acl/bb/00035ah
Scalix item number : 103761
User Name: Joost xxx / yyy/CN=Joost xxx
Last Folder: Contacts
=> this warning is there for all users.

ERROR Administration(Scalix Admin C) 12.02.08 15:10:15
[SYS 2] No such file or directory
Current errno value: 2
<- /build/11.4.2/src/lib/ombase/os/os_stat.c:58[1,2]

@phillsky: Excellent pointer! My Drafts folder is also a normal folder. Since my other users have the special folder Drafts I tried saving a message there and that works.

So it is user specific and the Drafts folder is not a specific folder anymore. Now how do we fix that?

Regards,
Joost.

This is kind of strange. This issue has be brought up once before, but no one has bothered to give it any attention. And it seems like it's going to be ignored once again. The issue
is driving me nuts, or at least the annoying error pop up window with saying "An error
occurred while trying to save this message" is.

I agree, it's highly annoying this SWA error. Anyone who can help us fix this error?

To all that are experiencing this error,

It is solved without me knowing it. I think it happend because the other day I saved a draft from Outlook and today I finished it in SWA.

Steps I took in the last week:
1. Reinstalled my laptop that has Outlook to connect to Scalix.
2. Installed Office 2007
3. Installed Scalix connector
4. Created a profile that uses the SmartCache
5. Startup Outlook and saved a draft

Hopefully somebody can confirm that this is the solution, otherwise I was just lucky and we will not know what caused it.

Regards,
Joost.
