How to make emails "appear"

Postby jillrae » Fri Sep 26, 2008 1:32 pm

This is a strange happening.

I get a user that says when they open SWA it says there are emails in their INBOX, but they don't show up in the list on the righ side of the window.

Here is what I have to do to get them to show up:

1. have user logout
2. Run sxclearimap -d -u "user name" to delete IMAP cache
3. run omscan -AxU "user name:" scan & fix any problems
4. If the user logs backin at this point, they stiall can not see the new messages. So I have them logout again
5. I then open their email using Outlook and then close it. (BTW all the new messages are visible in Outlook)
6. Then they log back in and they can see their new messages.

Why do i have to open their email using Outlook before they can see their new messages?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply.

I know a tomcat restart will work, but when I do that it disconnects all my SWA users and the helpdesk phone rings off the hook. I just thought there might be a way to do it without a tomcat restart in the middle of the day.

Upgrade to 11.4.1U1 (or latest release) and clean the imap cache of your users.
11.4.1U1 contains a patch that should resolve the imap cache corruption.
