When SWA locks up, the first thing I immediately assume is lack of RAM allocated to Tomcat.

Check /etc/opt/scalix-tomcat/scalix-tomcat.conf

In there, you'll find two config parameters. Make sure that your server has at least 2G in it, and then make both of those numbers 1024.

You'll need to restart tomcat to make them effective.

I'm assuming < 100 users here.

Ok, Lets get a bit more drastic.

Try replacing that with:

JAVA_OPTS="-server -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Xss1024K
-XX:-UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:NewRatio=2 -XX:SurvivorRatio=4 -Xms4096m
-Xmx4096m"

See how that works.

Any resolution on this.

We saw the same problem in 11.4.0 and just upgraded to 11.4.2 and the problem is still there.

We are having the exact same problem.
Scalix 11.4.2 running on RHEL5

SWA shows calendar entries just fine. But it is not possible to create new appointments. The "Create new appointment" window is partially empty and unresponsive.

There is an error message from IE.
it says

Line: 2
char: 712924
Error: Object Required
Code: 0
URL: https://mail.mydomain.com/webmail/wnd_C ... cale=en_US

Found the error in the Tomcat logs

2009-02-26 12:02:45,567 WARN [PlatformDispatcherServlet.service:81] Problem processing request method=GET URI=/api/admin@mydomain.com/mailbox/Calendar
org.springframework.web.util.NestedServletException: Request processing failed; nested exception is java.lang.NullPointerException

Is this the same issue that use to mess up the spellcheck in version 11.3?

Hello ive had the same problem twice!!!!

with the first time the solution was to reinstall the intire Scalix server, and upgrade it from 11.3. to 11.4.3.
Reconfigured the whole dam thing.

after some testing and configuring on the new installation, the problem accourd again.
i was almost crying. I dit a roll-back of every possible configure action ive made, and discoverd the problem in the Public folders.

If you have a calendar added under a Public folder, and you gave it rights for groups or persons, the problem accourds by me.

So it seems like a hard traceble bug in scalix.

If you have a calendar connection with outlook, thunderbird or evolution the problem does not accour.

I hope i was helpful.

(Running on Redhat enterprise server 5.1)
