Incorrect concurrent bookings on resource

Hi All

We're running version 11.3 on CentOS 5 with ~160 users (most of them on SWA).

When booking resources through the SWA we have a couple of issues...

One of the issues (having to add the resource from the address book as a resource and not being able to type the resource name and change the "type" to resource) is currently being looked at under an active bug in Bugzilla so we'll leave it at that...

I have trolled through the forums looking at the resource-related posts and did not see this issue mentioned elsewhere so here goes.

This issue is probably a bit more serious (for us in any case)...

I've set up our resources to allow recurring bookings but not concurrent bookings.

Unfortunately when I set up recurring meetings with these resources from the SWA it (the resource) accepts concurrent bookings and it reports as being successfully booked.

Doing the same bookings from Outlook results in the (expected) error that the resource has already been booked.

Trying to "double-book" a resource with non-recurring meetings through the SWA results in the message that the resource has already been booked.

Any thoughts?

Has this been fixed in 11.4?

I tested in 11.4 as follows and duplicated the behavior.

There is a bug open for this problem.

Is it just me that thinks that this is a rather serious issue... ?

Having to disable recurring resource bookings just because my SWA users will run the risk of double booking them will make the resource booking system much much less valuable.

Not wanting to sound rude or anything but how does this make it through QA in both version 11.3 and 11.4 (and possibly earlier versions)?

Yes it certainly seems serious to me but believe it or not you're the first customer that's reported it. It was raised by Q/A against 11.0 The bug number is 12084.

As I am "not authorized to access bug #12084" how will I know whether it has been fixed?

Hopefully they'll get it sorted soon....

I'm having to run around sorting out meeting room bookings that this system was supposed to make easier and as a result I have a couple of (understandably so) rather wound-up users...

The decision hasn't yet been made about what will be included in 11.5.

Hello...

As we are getting close to this issue's first birthday I was wondering whether anyone knows whether this has been fixed yet? Or whether it is going to be fixed at all? The Bugzilla bug is still there, and access is still denied...

Also has anybody else (that uses Scalix and the SWA for resource bookings) experienced this issue (reoccurring bookings being made on top of each other even though the resource is set up NOT to have concurrent bookings) in the year since this post was last updated? (Reportedly we were the first group of users to have ever encountered this)

Anyone?

Are we the *only* users wishing to make recurring resource bookings from the SWA? If we are then what is everybody else using for their resource management?

This is probably not a huge positive input, but for what it is worth we used to use a shared spreadsheet and while it was not integrated with the e-mail system at least one could always see who had what booked. This "honesty box" system of not removing someone else's booking worked MUCH better than the current resource bookings through the SWA.

Another issue with resources and calendars in the SWA is that I frequently have to delete users' imap cache folders as some of their appointments (and reminders for said appointments) do not show up in their SWA client.
The same sort of thing (items not showing up) happens with their e-mails. More interestingly perhaps, some of their e-mails pop up in their inbox again after they have deleted them.

Any update would be greatly appreciated.
