no luck... I added the code right above the </IfModule> so it lookes like this

JkWorkerProperty worker.worker1.reclycle_timeout=300
JkShmSize 10M
</IfModule>

and I also tried it at the beginning of of the code under the <IfModule>

the status file has no extension... (ie. *.log) and I can not view it.... I told it to open with gedit but the file was empty and the the file size is marked 0 bytes

I'm in exactly the same situation and have followed the instruction in the thread. Fresh install of FC4.

Sorry, but I don't believe that... ;-) Can you please

cat /etc/sysconfig/selinux

cat /boot/grub/menu.lst

and post the output here.

Cheers,

Sascha.

SELinux is activated by default in FC4 installations

I had exactly the same problem and googled - since there was no info in the knowledgebase - and I found this page http://www.junlu.com/msg/180006.html.

I deactivated SELinux at /etc/sysconfig/selinux and rebooted the system - after that everything worked fine.

I would suggest to mention SELinux somewhere in the documentation and add an article to the KB.

Best regards,
Andy

Thanks for letting us know how you resolved this Andy. This is documented in the release notes.

Regards,
Don
