Error 500 after changing the server IP and subnet

Postby cweeks » Sat Mar 25, 2006 1:15 pm

I moved my scalix 10 server to a new location after I had it all up and running but when I moved the server I had change internal subnet (going from 10.16.2.4 to 10.16.1.5). All other functions of the server are working fine, apache, webmin, samba, but I can not get my scalix webmail or sac to open I get an error of 500 Internal Server Error. So my question is does the scalix system record the IP addres during installation so that if the IP is changed then the program will no longer run? Also I noticed that on the services panel the scalix service says that **lisa is not present. Also know what an nslookup runs fine. Please let me know if anyone can help... I really do not want to have to reinstall the box but if I can't get this fixed soon I will have to..

Thanks,
Cameron

Hi Cameron,

I've not been able to follow up on this for a while because I've been out of the office. The 500 error is from Apache si please can you check your Apache error logs and post the output.

Cheers

Hi Cameron,

Are we going around in circles with this ?

When you posted a similar problem a couple of weeks ago, we went through the process of checking that your /etc/hosts and DNS were all correct. Does this meant that the machine you have moved to is in a similar state ?

A message like can't resolve tomcat address localhost indicates problems in this area. Please can you check them out and come back after you've fixed it ?

Cheers

DAve
