Rules Wizard forwarded messages mail from changed

Postby ServerStorm » Tue Feb 10, 2009 6:55 pm

Hi,

I have been trying to forward messages from outsideuser@someplace.com to an info@company.com address to person1@company.com and person2@company.com. I have been successful at getting messages to forward to person1 and person2; however the forward rule changes the "mail from" to info@company.com so if person1 or person2 repliies there messages are sent to info@company.com rather than outsideuser@someplace.com.
  • I need to have messages deliver to info@company.com and person1@company.com and person2@company.com.
  • I don't control the dns for company.com and I can not request fowards to be setup at the DNS level.
  • I looked into doing this with route filtering however there is not good documentation or clear answers on if this can be done in Scalix 11.0.3?

Can someone recommend if there is a way for Rules Wizard to stop changed the mail from or can recommend (likely a route filter) another way to allow for the aforementioned requirements?

Regards,
Steve

You want a Redirect, not a Forward rule. Redirect sends to a different mailbox, Forward acts as if you pressed Forward in your client.

I don't have a 10.x installation any more, so I can't answer.

1) You may be able to get sxaa to work on 10.x with some tweaks (ask Scalix Support, maybe)
2) You may be able to do it in the Web Rules Wizard
3) You may be able to do it inside Outlook in the Rules Wizard

I think the first and the last is the most likely places to look.
