Activesync server connection issues

Hi,
We have an RHEL5 box hosting activesync as a seperate server from our scalix server. Had to rebuild the scalix server and have it doen and scalix and all other services working except activesync. Have reinstalled activesync but no joy. Have also trawled through the activesync forum looking at and trying anything relevant however I just cant get this thing working. Im assuming something has changed on the rebuilt mail server but im not having any luck finding anything.
I can log into https://activesync/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync but I get the http 405 error. I can see the connections coming in on the firewall (they are allowed) but they just time out.
How can I troubleshoot this?
