Samsung Galaxy GT-I9000: Just exact 50 Contacts

Postby ivoruetsche » Thu Jul 22, 2010 9:32 pm

We have one who change from the iPhone to the GT-I9000. On the iPhone the sync with Contacts and Calendar works fine. Now, on the GT-I9000, it sync just 50 entries. I remove the account on the phone and i create it again, then it sync 99 entries. I remove it again and there are just 50 again, then i recreate it more then 20 times, but it sync never more then 50 entries; never 99 again and never the full contact list, it's about 317 entries.

Any Idea?

I had some sort of similar X with my Nokia N900 back some time. It started syncing contacts but timed-out at some point. I do not remember at what numbers that was though.
To my best guess it had to do with different ActiveSync protocols. Scalix ist mainly based on AS 2.5 which is rather "old". Newer phones use AS versions 12.0 or 12.1. Do you know which AS version is used by the Galaxy?

I regularly get this problem when I have to recreate my account on the mobile.. i.e. after wiping everything and a new fw flash.
I then do the following to get it working again: move all contacts into a local folder using outlook.
sxmboxexp my account, delete and recreate it, sxmboximp, scanpst the local folder I exported the contacts to (often needs 2-3 runs of scanpst).
Move all the contacts back from the local folder to the contacts folder.

This procedure worked the last 3 times I got in trouble with my contacts.
