ActiveSync not starting?

We're trying to get ActiveSync going, and it doesn't appear to be running at all. Tomcat is up, SWA works, but we are unable to visit https://[server_name]/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync on our server, and the scalix-mobile.log is always empty. scalix-wireless-1.0.1.555-1 and scalix-mobile-11.4.5.911-1 are both installed. We tried to uninstall ActiveSync and reinstall, but the installer failed with this error:
I suspect that some kind of configuration that the installer was supposed to have done did not succeed when we upgraded from Scalix 10 (just a guess?). Any ideas?
