android htc magic exchange sync

I'm an sbe scalix customer and got the eval version of activesync. however I can't seem to make it work with htc magic/android. It keeps giving authentication errors, but there are not authentication errors in the logs.

I haven't got any other devices to test with, so I am not sure if the problem is the handheld or the server.. Anyone have any ideas?
when i try browing to the page using local web browser i get the following, is this normal?
