iPhone and Blocking Login Attempts After Failure

Postby a.sobieray » Wed Feb 10, 2010 11:00 am

Hi experts,

we use a dedicated ActiveSync webserver to let our iPhone users access their Scalix mailbox.

To add security we've configured "Blocking Login Attempts After Failure" to a value of 10.

Now we've seen several users being locked out without seeing login attempt failures.

So here are my questions:

How can I see a users number of login attempt failures (before reaching the limit)?
Which loglevels do I have to set so see what's going on with login generally or with activesync connections to the webserver ?
We shutdown Scalix services during nightly backups. Could this raise login failures, when iPhones try to connect during downtime ?

Hi,
I had similar issues.

It's strange that scalix seems to lock user profiles on -obviously- failed login attempts when rci is off..
In order to see unsuccessful login attempts I think you need to up the audit logging for rci.
omconfaud rci...
then you need to view the ~/logs/audit file.
An unsuccessful login attempt would show up as signon-status 655. Successful ones have status 0

I had this issue when notify on demand tried to login 10x/second!! when rci was off.
