Nothing but trouble

Postby Uluquai » Wed Jan 20, 2010 8:43 pm

It's really completely annoying.
I suggested Scalix to my boss and we have nothing but trouble with active sync.

An employee with a Windows Mobile 6 device totally messed up his calendar, because events he created on the mobile had completely wrong begin/end times on the server.
My boss, who is using his fully patched iphone 3gs constantly loses all his calendar data on the phone.

Come on, you really should state that this is a beta, rather than motivating corporate customers using this feature.
I'd say it's even dangerous at times.

Are those cirtical issues going to be resolved in ActiveSync that comes along with 1.5?

Sounds more like an issue with your setup than the product...

And what I'D ask is whether you're using the free community edition. (If not, you could easily log a support request for your problem.) If so, don't you think you're being a little harsh???

Don't misunderstand me. I really, really like scalix. But the current situation with active sync ist just very troublesome for me.

This happened for one of two iPhone users first, now after a week the second one finally lost all his calendar data one the phone (thankfully on the phone only)
It's all my fault you say?
You know this thread http://www.scalix.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=14415&start=15#p63984 don't you?
Or this one: http://www.scalix.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=14397

Just look around in this subforum and you'll hardly find any positive feedback.

But enough of this, the product is just very new, I understand that. But I am constantly being hit by those users who can't sync properly with their devices.

I WILL open a support ticket, you are right. I didn't want to at first given the postings in this forum and I didn't think it would really help.

I'm really looking forward to the new scalix activesync version, does anyone know what to expect?

ActiveSync isn't available for the community edition - paying members only.

Just wanted to add that CalDAV is working absolutely great on the iPhones.. so no need to have Calendar enabled via ActiveSync anymore IF it's not working properly ;)
