"Your message [...] was deleted without being read"

Hello Friends,
we encountered a unlovely behaviour with Scalix, MAPI and Outlook:
When
deleting un-read items in Outlook ppl get a:
Your message
To: x@y.com
was deleted without being read on 11/09/05 at 15:51
-email.
So after importing mails into our system customers got tons of such
messages...
Question: Where can this 'feature' be disabled?

Try going to Tools > Options > Preferences > Email Options > Trackin Options and clear/disable "read receipts" and "delivery receipts".
Are Scalix users getting these messages or users on the legacy system?

Hello Matthew,
what we experienced is the following:
We inserted mail from mail accounts (via fetchmail) into Scalix via SMTP.
All mail was therefore un-read, again.
Because a lot of mail was indeed old, it got deleted by us without having set all the elements
to status "read" with Outlook.
Now, the Scalix server sent "Your message got deleted without being read..." Mails
to the sender(s) of all the mail(s)... Phew
Best regards,
Sebastian.

Ok... fine, but did you check on the (outlook) client that is receiving these messages whether (Tools > Options > Preferences > Email Options > Tracking Options ) "read receipts" and "delivery receipts" are enabled?

Hello again,
yes and it's fine now! Thank you...
I just wanted to explain the "way" completely.

Sebastian Krajenski.
