Hello,

Outlook version 2003 SP2
Scalix Connect 11.0.1.22

This error has shown on a few of our users computers when accepting a meeting or creating a meeting. When the meeting is sent it shows this message. For the other user when the meeting was accepted it generated this error.

In both cases the outlook calendar was not updated correctly after this message occurred.

error message is: Error reading data for a recurring Calendar item: '■æ■Ö■B3' (The ASCII characters change for each time it displays the error.)

Thank you

same problem

Has anyone know the fix for this error?

In our case it happened when they moved a scheduled event to a different day.

The weird thing is that the user who is having the problem is using another person's shared calender, the person who the calendar belongs to does not have that problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,

I have seen this error now with more of our users and have not found a fix for it.

It happens when we move appointments, create appointments, and in your case we have seen the error pop up as well.

Thanks,

Travis

Can you help me create a reproducible scenario for this?

What version is the server? Is internationalization involved, what about smartcache?

Steve, are you also running 11.0.1 on your desktops? What version is your server?

Kev,

I am going to try to reproduce this as well.

We are running server 11.0.2.17 and smart cache is enabled. I was also running a profile that smart cache was not enabled and it also happened.

Thanks,

Travis

I just reproduced this - here is how.

I installed the scalix connector and made a new profile with smart cache enabled.

I then opened up outlook and let it do a full sync. I then restarted outlook when it told me to. With it fully synced I opened up my calendar and did a new meeting request. After I hit send this happened.

I can reproduce this as I also tried it on my machine and same thing.

We have the new outlook connector with the server version listed above. Tested with Outlook 2003 SP2.

Anything else you need let me know,

Thanks!

Travis

Update:

Tested this on a brand new install of Windows and Office 2003. Got the same error message.

Thanks,

I can't replicate it.

Does this happen for all users, or just or some?

Kev.

Kev,

This has happened for quite a few users. I cant say all because not all of them are using the calendar, but for the ones that use it on a daily basis - yes it has happened to them.

Thanks,

Travis

Hello,

Any update on what we can do to resolve this?

Thanks

We upgraded to the latest patched version of scalix server 11 and the latest outlook connector. The client is using Outlook 2003. Error still persists.

It had to do with a recurring appointment that was moved, that is how the problem started. We identified the appointment, deleted it and recreated it. That solved the problem.

So there must be a bug when moving recurring appointments/meetings?

Thanks

Steve -

Yes this happens with all of our recurring meetings, we can delete them however when we recreate them we still get this error. I can replicate this bug with no problem.

Thanks,

Travis

This issue is still occurring and can be reproduced. I know others on the forum are having this problem as well.

Did anyone figure out way to resolve this?

Thanks,

Travis

Hi,
I have the same problem after we change a appointment date.

Now the user cannot use outlook or the web interface , and other users who have a connection to the first user calendar cannot open the calendar part too.

It's the latest scalix/connector version running on opensuse 10.2 , I can provide remote access to scalix team, access to daily backup of the scalix folders and which appointement crash the system.

By the way , I already had to move from activesync to funambol because activesync crashed also the calendar/contact part ...
