I have a rather strange problem with Outlook 2007 and scalix 11.4.6. Whenever I start Outlook it takes a long time to become interactive and uses 50% cpu until it does. Once it becomes interactive its fine, except when I attempt to use the Tools menu button, in which case it crashes completely. I have tried a complete reinstall of Office 2007 and the scalix connector, but no success. I have removed just about every addin from the registry, since I can't access the Tools menu items. Whenever I access from Outlook safe mode it works just fine. Any ideas where I should look next?

I have managed to resolve this problem. For some mysterious reason all the Exchange Client Extensions for Scalix were disabled. Once I re-enabled these in safe mode, everything was back to normal and the Tools menu was accessible again. I can only assume that some of the Microsoft upgrades impacted this in some way.
