IE 7 beta 2 will cause OL/SC to crash.
With IE 7 beta 2 installed Outlook/ScalixConnect will crash when sending meeting invite.

Is there an ETA on a fix for this, or is there a workaround available besides using Fire Fox? :)

Our policy on browser support is to support the versions that are on General Availability, i.e. not beta.
Until Microsoft releases IE7 formally, we will not be providing support for it within our product. If this happens before the next major release, due later this year, we will try to provide support but this depends on how close to our release it becomes available. If it happens after the next release, we will base our decision on business cases.

It looks like IE7 will be released this month and pushed out to everyone shortly thereafter. I know it has casued some outlook issues, does SWA work in it?

IE7 Here Now!
Outlook does crash when meeting invite is accepted. It appears that the meeting invite does in fact record when accepted but Outlook crashes.

With the release of IE7 and with Automatic updates soon pushing this down to users, does Scalix have any plans to release a V10 fix?
What are other Non-Active Directory Scalix customers with Automatic updates configured going to do to prevent downloading and installation of IE7?
This update from Microsoft looks like it is going to cause a lot of headaches for IT departments.

Dear Scalix Customer or Partner:
As you are probably aware, Microsoft is aggressively marketing Internet Explorer 7 (IE 7) and encouraging users to install it. We understand that they intend to proactively download IE 7 to users with Windows Update turned on, possibly as early as November 1.
Currently, there are three likely problems that we are aware of. The first issue is Bug 11319 . In summary, with IE 7 loaded, running Outlook with the Scalix connector, if you create a meeting invitation and add others, when you hit Send, Outlook crashes. We have identified the likely root cause of this problem and are working diligently on a fix. Please stay tuned as we should have an update soon.
The second issue is Bug 13539. The issue here is that Umlaut characters are displayed incorrectly in Contacts in Scalix Web Access (SWA). This problem only manifests itself when these characters are entered via an ALT+0xxx key combination. Characters entered directly from a localized keyboard work properly.
The third issue is Bug 13541. This issue is the same as Bug 13539 except that it impacts the Scalix Admin Console (SAC). This problem only manifests itself when these characters are entered via an ALT+0xxx key combination. Characters entered directly from a localized keyboard work properly.

If you visit Bugzilla to look at the bug report, you will see that the problem has resolution code "Fixed".
What that means is that development believe that they have fixed the problem in the most current cut of the source.
However, that needs to go through thorough quality assurance, along with other fixes that have been made before the fix is allowed out into the wild ...
