Outlook Resource Scheduling doesn't auto accept

Postby heutink » Thu Feb 10, 2005 5:09 pm

I'm having problems getting the Calendar Resources to work correctly.
The problem is that when scheduling resources, the resources don't auto accept, or display a message that the resources were successfully booked. When viewing the calendar as the resource, the mail box contains the requests and you have to manually accept.

Resources were added using the SAC or using omaddu -n "Resource Test/sxserver" -p pass
A scalix profile was created and using Outlook the following tasks were executed:
-An appointment in the future was created to publish the free/busy data
-Automatic accept/reject of meeting requests is enabled through Select Tools>Options>Preferences>Calendar options>Resource scheduling
-Default Permissions on calendar were set as None/Reviewer/Author/Publishing Author/Owner but none of them made a difference

When scheduling a meeting request, the resource is added using 'Add Others' and it selected and added to the 'Resource' section.

We're using Scalix 9.1 and Outlook XP (2002)

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Peter Heutink

Hi,

9.1 had some issues regarding Resource booking. Upgrading to 9.2 should resolve this (which I think you have already done).

However, based on your description, I think you forgot a step. After you do an omaddu, you must use omsearch to make sure that the name values match the entry you just added with omaddu. This ensures free/busy lookup data:

omsearch –d FREEBUSY –e “S=Room/G=Board” –m @x400-attr@|omaddent –f –
