Hi,

I am in the process of migrating laptops. Today I installed the Scalix MAPI connector from 11.4.6 onto Outlook 2007 running on Windows 7 on brand new HP laptop. It synced my mail perfectly (around 1.5G). During this, I was able to send mail. The sync completed, then suddenly my Outbox was not emptying. The green icon started to flash and the logs show:



Since then I am unable to send any mail (even after multiple reboot). Messages stay hanging in the Outbox. The Scalix MAPI Connector stays ticked and green and no matter what I send, i.e. it appears that Outlook/Scalix/MAPI does not even notice that there is new mail to send!

However, my Outbox stays full of messages to send. I have to solve this! (I am still able to view my mail and send mail via old laptop running Scalix Connector 11.4.6 that has been working for the last 2 years - so it looks like it is a local Outlook/MAPI problem...)

I'll put a bet on it being outlook plugins conflicting with the scalix one. 99 times out of 100 it is.

Anti-virus plugins are the usual culprit for "fail to send" and crash outlook issues. I know nod32 is incompatible. other plugins that cause issues....BCM, Office Live Connector, itunes, some desktop search integrations. Have a look at what you've got in the trust center under com addins, disable one by one till you find the culprit.

Thanks. I did try to remove all the add-ons in the Trust Centre. There was one in particular from HP (Quicklook) that worried me, which I uninstalled completely. The only plug-in I have running now is "Scalix Rules Processing Engine". No change!

I also tried to uninstall and re-install MS Office. No change. It seems that MS Office leaves configuration data behind when it uninstalls which is used on the new installation. The Add-Ons seems to be a mess. When I removed them from the trust centre (after loggin in as Administrator because it did not allow me to do it, even though my user is an Administrator) I started getting the following error (amongst other plug-in errors) when starting Outlook (sigh).



Help!? How can I get MS-Office completely off my machine before I try to re-insall it?

I have now resorted to creating a new user on Windows 7, and downloading a new cache for this user. The new user is able to send mail (for now DV) and has no problem with plug-ins (yet). I would like to know how I can completely clear the Outlook settings on Windows 7. I suspect that the registary remains polluted as well as user / APPDATA structure after uninstall.

I think the new trend with software allowing plug-ins to be installed willy nilly from every Tom, Dick & Harry should be resisted.
