Select "Manually configure the mail server" and then select "Additinal Server Types". Works for me on Vista/OL 2007 and Win7/OL2003.

Hi,
Try turning off User account control at least for the installation of any software you need. I have found UAC to actually block or not properly install some software because of UAC. Turning it off, it installed like a champ. I have not decided in my environment if I am going to allow it to remain on, or turn it off. Since I am going for maximum compatibility, I will probably turn it off at least in the near future and revisit UAC later in Windows 7's product life.
Sincerely,
Sideband Samurai

I know this is not going to sound like fun. When I have run into these issues, I deleted the mail profile, removed Scalix connector, removed office 2007. then i reversed that process by re-installing Office 2007, applied all updates and service packs, then install Scalix Connector, then re-created the profile. This process though long, has solved problems similar to what you mentioned.
I am assuming that you are using 11.4.6, and UAC is turned off. If you are not at 11.4.6 then you should be.
Sincerely,

Disabling UAC also disables folder virtualization, This may break certain apps when you re-enable UAC, and some of their data is "missing". Personally I've tested Scalix 11.4.6 on Windows 7 32-bit and Outlook 2007, and it works for me.
Usually I do the following, if I get this kind of error:
- Delete mail profile
- Uninstall Scalix Connect
- Reboot machine
- Reinstall Scalix Connect
- Reboot machine
- Create a brand-new never-before-used mail profile
