First one, it says
"Runtime Error!
Program c:/progra~1\scalix\connect\sxcacgeMgr.exe
R6025
-pure virtual function call"

Second one, happened when openning an email. it says
"cannot open this item.
This command is not allowed in this context
"

This happens often.

Many thanks.

I have turned off needless add-on's but the problem persists.

Try the usual stuff.....

1. apply all service packs and ms patches to office.
2. try a brand new outlook profile.
3. try a non cache profile as opposed to a smartcache one.
4. do you have BCM enabled? I recommend removing that, it doesn't play well with Scalix.
5. Make sure you dont have any "office connector" toolbar which is from windows live. this breaks Scalix too. Uninstall the office connector if you've got it in add/remove programs.

if you still have problems post some more specific detail like version numbers of outlook, scalix being used etc.

Scalix 11.4.5
Office 2007

Some $M programs installed and not sure if that matters.
They are Primary Interop Assemblies, Project Standard and Small Business Connetivity Components.

can you narrow it down like so.....

1. does the problem happen only on the naughty machine, regardless of which scalix user profile is setup?

2. if you setup the user with the problem on another working machine does the problem happen?

This will tell you whether its a user problem or a specific outlook problem on that pc.

The problem is this happens occasionally and at a random time, I cannot wait in front of the computer for crashes cos it might take hours ...
In addition, I cannot expect people to switch computers just for testing email system, cos they must have their own stuff on local machines.

That's a pain ... any log I can check so that I can have some more useful infomation?
