sxlsvr32: Unrecognised database format

I have a laptop user who has called me this morning to say that he is getting the following error when he tried to start Outlook:

SXLSVR32: Unrecognised database format: c:\documents and settings\... \scalix\mapi\profiles\scalix\mbcmailbox.mdb

I have done some quick research but can't turn up anything that is even remotely like this.

The laptop is running Windows XP Professional (either SP2 or SP3), Microsoft Office 2003 (SP3), and from memory the scalix outlook connector is something like version 11.1. (The laptop is 800km away, so I don't have physical access to it).

Sounds like corruption to me. Has the hard disk been checked for errors?

I have a duplicate of that error with a user this morning.. I'll do the usual checks and if necessary recreate the local copy. Just reporting here in case this is a recurring issue?
