From address behaviour change in Scalix Connect

I've downloaded Scalix 10, and I must say I am VERY impressed with it.

However I did notice something strange when receiving email from mailing lists. Previously the information in the "From:" header was populated into the "From" coloumn in Outlook. However, in Scalix 10 the information in the "Sender:" header is populated into this coloumn.

The problem is that certain mailing list managers (specifically Mailman and Yahoo! Groups) put the list address or list manager address or even the list bouncing address. If you then do a "Reply" the address that gets picked up is an administrative address, instead of the orignal sender.

If the "Sender:" header is missing, the "From:" header is used correctly. SWA displays the correct address from the "From:" field.

Looks like the "I found the first bug" t-shirt goes to you ;-)

We're looking into it.

Cheers,

Sascha.

Has there been any update to this issue?

Indeed. If this is related to the issue I've seen, relating to hiding Full Names, this is going to halt our implementation of Scalix Enterprise as our sizeable mail archives will be much more difficult to access via Outlook.

The issue has now been mentioned multiple times. This seems to be a regression in Scalix 10, brought in by some changes in handling From/Sender delegation cases more correctly.

We're looking into a possible fix to be made available in either a Patch to Scalix 10 or in the next release of Scalix.

If you have any specific concerns about your particular deployment of scalix, please contact Scalix sales.

Cheers,
Florian.

Florian - thanks. We are purchasing through the UK reseller - is that who we should contact in the first instance?
