Palm Sync (LifeDrive and others)

I'm sure this has been asked before and my search turned up certain answers, but how successful has everyone been in sync'ing to outlook 2003/scalix connector on ver 9.4.1 using the palm conduits?

We do not issue pda's here, but instructors may bring in their own. I need to know if I should send out an announcement that we will not support palm products in sync'ing to our system. Blackberry I know doesn't work well. My windows pda sync with absolutely no issues.

I believe the official position is that there are still issues sync'ing, but I would like to see that restated AND would like to get feedback from users that have tried sync'ing using the palm outlook conduits.

This is prompted by an instructor purchasing a pam lifedrive. we can sync the contacts/notes/tasks, but not the calendar using the palm outlook conduits.

Did you tried to set the conduit as a default and enabled the offline synchronisation for this conduit (please do not miss it up with the offline synch of OL itself..)? We got it running with these settings with OL 2003 and mapi version 9.4.0.46 and 9.4.2

Hi Anthony,

Let me eloborate on what Don is saying. Blackberry support is currently through Notify. As far as Palm's, we fully support the Chapura Pocket Mirror product. Many Palm's come with Pocket Mirror or you can purchase it from the Chapura website.

As a palm/LD owner the synchronisation to scalix is fairly painless. however it depends on what you want to sync.

The standard PIM applications sync to outlook/scalix fine (the later palm desktop has native outlook support, so you don't need chapura)

However the conduits for VersaMail only sync to exchange or an IMAP/POP3 Server.

Personnally I use Agendus Mail which syncs via it's own conduit to outlook
